People who say, "This looks just like a photograph!" do you a grave disservice! Your work transcends photography on so many levels. Essentially an orange/blue complementary color-scheme is offset by the warm green in the background of the trees reflected in the water. Compositionally exquisite--all lines lead to the water cupped in her hands, framed by the gentle curve of the shoreline at the top and the girl's reflection at the bottom. Simply put, this is a work of extreme beauty.
Like many people here I was sure this is a photograph. And it looked like a photograph from a point-and-shoot camera, suffereing from artifacts of bad editing. I was scratching my head: why it is a DD?…
After a few hours I looked at it again, thinking: there must be something I am missing here… Then I realized: is is a painting! (It is categorized as one). Well, I have to say, that didn't make things better. In my book, this is about the worst things that can be said about a painting: "it looks just like a photograph!".
Lots of people here seem to love it - I respect that. And my respect goes to your technical skills as a painter! Take it easy !
i have to say i agree. i think it's a great work- on skill level and there might me a nice concept too, but it looks like an ordinary photograph :/ but well, not everybody can like every dd, isn't it like this? and as i said- the skill is amazing.
